Design Support

Send a logo. Get a print-ready dieline and a 3D mockup in 48–72 hours.

Most Canadian custom-packaging buyers don't have a packaging-trained designer on staff. They have a logo, a product dimension, and a launch date. Apex's in-house design team converts that into a print-ready, manufacturable spec.

What's included

  1. Structural design — a dieline drawn to your product dimensions and the box style that fits.
  2. Print prep — colour conversion (RGB → CMYK or spot Pantone), bleed and trim allowances, file format ready for plate or digital production.
  3. 3D mockup — a rendered visualization of the finished box.
  4. Physical pre-production sample — optional, billed at sample cost, credited to the order on production.

Turnaround

  • First dieline + 3D mockup: 48–72 hours from receipt of brand assets.
  • Revisions: 24–48 hours per round.
  • Physical sample (if requested): 5–7 business days after digital approval.

What we need from you

  • Logo as a vector file (AI, EPS, or PDF). Raster (JPG, PNG) is fine — Apex will convert.
  • Brand colours as Pantone codes or hex values.
  • Product dimensions (length × width × height) and weight.
  • Quantity, target lead time, and any sustainability requirements.
  • Reference images — competitor packaging you like or dislike is useful.

What it costs

  • Free with any order over MOQ. Two rounds of revision included.
  • $200–$500 flat fee for design-only engagements, depending on complexity.
  • Custom structural design (entirely new dieline, no existing reference): quoted separately, typically $400–$1,200 depending on complexity.

Frequently asked

Can I keep the dieline file if I work with a different printer? +

For design-only paid engagements, yes — Apex provides the editable file. For design included with a production order, the dieline is licensed to the order; if the buyer wants portable rights, a one-time licensing fee applies.

Do you do graphic design (artwork) too, or only structural? +

Both. Structural (dieline + 3D) is the default included scope. Surface artwork is available at additional cost — typically $400–$1,500 per panel.

What file formats do you produce? +

PDF/X-4 for print production. AI / EPS native files for revisions. PNG / WEBP for 3D mockup previews.

How does this differ from a packaging designer agency? +

Agencies focus on creative direction and brand. Apex's design team focuses on manufacturability — making sure the box actually folds, prints, and ships at the spec the agency drew. The two are complementary.
